Nine clubs are represented in the first Scotland Women’s sevens training squad named by Head Coach Scott Wight.
The 20-player group will meet on Saturday and Sunday at Oriam in Edinburgh as Wight begins to the run the rule over the talent at his disposal.
Lichfield, Hillhead/Jordanhill, Edinburgh University, Melrose, Caithness, RHC Cougars, Murrayfield Wanderers, Alseford Bulls and Worcester are represented.
The finalised squad will then compete in this summer’s Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Trophy events.
The tournaments are in the Czech Republic in June and Hungary in July with the aim of getting promoted to the Grand Prix events for 2018 with good showings.
