A new North League Qualifier has been introduced to the Sarah Beaney Cup in a bid to develop women’s rugby in the north of the country.

Banff, Inverness Craig Dunain, Orkney and Shetland set to play in a qualifying tournament for entry into the first round of the Cup.

The draw for the first round of the Cup has been made to determine who will meet on Sunday, October 1 and go head-to-head in the initial stages of the competition.

The winner of the North League Qualifier will then join the first round of the main competition with Ayr, Cartha Queen’s Park, Stirling County and Watsonians joining in round three and the top four from last season’s BT Women’s Premier League entering at the quarter-final stages, including the defending champions Hillhead/Jordanhill.
