Scotland Women Sevens won the first leg of the Rugby Europe Women’s Sevens Trophy this weekend.

The event in Ostrava, Czech Republic, was the first under new Head Coach Scott Wight and skipper Lisa Thomson and it could not have gone much better.

On day one they defeated Moldova 46-0, Israel by the same scoreline and Germany 36-0 in the pool stages.

In those matches the try scorers were: Rhona Lloyd (5), Hannah Smith (5), Megan Gaffney (3), Elizabeth Musgrove (3), Lauren Harris (3), Chloe Rollie (2) and Helen Nelson (1).

On day two they defeated Hungary 46-0 in the last eight and then Ukraine 26-7 in the last four.

That pitted them against Germany in the final and they came out on top 46-0.

The second leg of the event is in Hungary on July 22 and 23.
