The Scotland under-16 Coaches are delighted that the Blue and Red teams managed to win three out of four matches collectively at the Colwyn Bay Rugby Festival in Wales.

Tuesday marked the final day of the festival where Scotland Blues ran seven tries past RGC to win 47-5 and Scotland Reds defeated Scarlets 27-19.

Previously on the Saturday, Scotland Blues lost by one point to Dragons 15-14 and Scotland Reds held a clean sheet to win 53-0 against RGC.

Scotland Blues Head Coach Steve Lawrie said: “I’m extremely proud of the boys’ efforts this week.

“They were determined to rectify Saturday’s mistakes, which cost them their win against Dragons and they did exactly that and more on Tuesday by defeating RGC by 42 points.”

Scotland Reds Head Coach Bryan Easson added: “I’m thrilled that the Reds secured two from two wins at the Colwyn Bay Rugby Festival.

“They excelled against RGC and worked hard to overcome Scarlets after being down by nine points at half-time. They kept calm, remained patient and stuck to the team systems we have been working hard on and that paid off.”

Following this festival, the coaches will now look to select a group of 20-25 players to attend a two-week training camp this July in Valladolid, Spain.
