Stirling University Ladies team have returned from a great tour to Norway.
They travelled to Stavanger as they have friends in a team who they had previously met at the Stockholm 10s tournaments. Indeed, one of the Stavanger players was also an ex-Stirling girl!
To go on the tour the girls were sponsored by Hagan Pharmacies and they were very grateful for the support.
They played a 10s match against Stavanger Rugby Klubb and scored some good tries in a 54-7 victory.
Hannah Evans from the club said: “It was an amazing end to the season, to have one final game with the graduating students. The atmosphere was great, and the Stavanger Rugby Klubb made us feel exceptionally welcome.
“It’s amazing to see somewhere like Norway that is just beginning to recognise women’s rugby compared to Scotland where women’s rugby has been recognised for a while now.
“The Stavanger team were amazing in their determination and put up an amazing fight. None the less it was an amazing feeling to be able to finish our undefeated league season with a win on our end of season tour.”
