Scotland Reveal Autumn International Squad in Morning Announcement.

At 10 o’clock this morning, Scottish Rugby officially unveiled their squad for the upcoming Autumn Test series – a moment keenly anticipated by fans, pundits and players alike. While full match details and final selections are yet to be confirmed, the announcement offers a window into the strategic thinking of head coach Gregor Townsend and signals how Scotland aim to balance experience, leadership and fresh talent heading into some high-stakes fixtures.

Edinburgh duo Harri Morris and Liam McConnell have been named in Scotland’s squad for the upcoming Autumn Internationals, with both in contention to appear in fixtures against the United States (1 November), New Zealand (8 November), Argentina (16 November) and Tonga (23 November).

Joining them is Montpellier number eight Masibaka, who was born in Australia but qualifies for Scotland through his mother. The dynamic forward previously featured in July’s non-cap clash against the Māori All Blacks, and now steps closer to a full international debut.

Speaking about Alexander Masibaka, Townsend said the Montpellier number eight “has now been involved in the past two campaigns, played really well against the Māori All Blacks and has started the season very well for Montpellier. His explosive running, his power and also his work-rate are key attributes that can add to our squad.

Meanwhile, British & Irish Lions centre Sione Tuipulotu will captain Gregor Townsend’s side throughout the series, while Edinburgh skipper Magnus Bradbury earns a well-deserved return to the national setup.

Head coach Gregor Townsend praised several of his new and returning selections as Scotland finalised their squad for the Autumn Internationals.

The opening Test against the United States falls outside the official international window, meaning Scotland will be restricted to picking players from Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors for that fixture. Townsend also highlighted the rise of Liam McConnell, noting: “He’s had a real breakthrough season so far for Edinburgh. He plays with a lot of pride and passion, and it’s great that he’s going to get an opportunity.”

And on fellow Edinburgh forward Harri Morris, the coach added: “Every time he’s played at any level, he’s brought aggression and physicality. We see him having that Test match mentality.”
