The upcoming Scotland v New Zealand match in the 2025 Autumn Nations Series is generating a lot of excitement among rugby fans. Scheduled for the 8th of November, at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, the fixture is attracting significant attention, signalling some very positive signs for the enthusiasm for Scottish rugby.
Unprecedented Demand for Tickets
Scottish Rugby has reported exceptional demand for tickets to this match. Rugby club members, who receive early access to tickets, have purchased a record number for an autumn international, matching the levels typically seen for Calcutta Cup matches. The general public has also shown unprecedented interest, with multi-match packages, especially those including the New Zealand game, proving particularly popular.
While individual match tickets for all four games (against USA, New Zealand, Argentina, and Tonga) are scheduled to go on sale next week, Scottish Rugby cannot guarantee there will be many—or any—left for the New Zealand match. Olaf Gueldner, Scottish Rugby’s Chief Customer Officer, stated: “The race for All Blacks tickets has been so intense that after the Supporters Club pre-sale, we expect the number of tickets available for general sale—if there are any at all—to be very limited.”
A Historic Opportunity
Scotland has faced New Zealand 32 times since their first meeting in 1905, with the All Blacks winning 30 matches and two ending in draws. In their most recent encounter during the 2022 autumn series, Scotland led for much of the game before narrowly losing 31–23. This upcoming match presents another opportunity for Scotland to secure their first-ever victory over New Zealand
